The Mascoulisse Quartet was born in 2006 from the meeting of four trombonists – Stefano Belotti, Alberto Pedretti, Davide Biglieni and Antonio Mascherpa – united by the same academic training (Conservatorio “Luca Marenzio” in Brescia and Darfo) and a common artistic vision: to explore the expressive potential of the trombone in an original and refined chamber music dimension.
During its almost twenty years of activity, the quartet has had an intense international career with more than 650 concerts in Italy, Europe, the United States, Oman, Macao and Hong Kong. They have performed in prestigious venues such as the Teatro Franco Parenti in Milan, the Teatro Massimo in Pescara, the Duomo in Milan, the Dom Pedro Theatre in Macao and the Royal Opera House in Muscat. At the same time, they have worked with artists such as Christian Lindberg, Stefan Schulz, Eleonora Buratto, Annalisa Stroppa and many others.
Their artistic concept combines technical precision, performing elegance and a strong spirit of innovation, with a focus on enhancing contemporary repertoire and creative realisation. The Mascoulisse Quartet is also active in teaching, its members are professors at conservatories and first voices in major orchestras, and it has seven albums and numerous educational publications to its credit.
