In previous editions, a diverse repertoire has been developed that encompasses different musical styles – from Beethoven, Mozart and Dvořák to Glazunov, Larsson and contemporary composers such as Roberto Molinelli. Several world premieres were also presented, including the concerto ‘Losing the Paradise’ for soprano/baritone saxophone and orchestra by Umberto Bombardelli and the ‘Barbiturico Suite’ by Antonio Fracchetti.

Since 2019, with the start of the second Euroregional cycle, there has been close cooperation with the Alveus association, which has significantly developed the orchestra project. This has resulted in the ‘Orchestra Euroregionale Alpen Classica – Euregio Symphonieorchester’, which regularly performs in all three regions, accompanies the final galas of the Saxfestival and works with internationally renowned soloists and teachers.
54 students from the Euregio’s music institutions took part in the 2023 edition. They spent an intensive week of rehearsals at the seminary in Bressanone/Brixen, where they worked with experienced tutors.
The aim of the project is to specifically promote the musical skills of young musicians and to further strengthen cultural exchange within the Euregio through music. The collaboration with high-calibre tutors and soloists offers participants a unique learning experience at a professional level.
