The ‘Low Vibes’ Tuba Quartet was formed out of a shared desire among four friends to experiment and push the boundaries of an ambitious chamber music project. Despite its unusual instrumentation, comprising two tubas and two euphoniums, which gives the quartet a warm, mellow and enveloping sound, the ensemble boasts a wide-ranging repertoire. This includes original works composed specifically for this rare formation, transcriptions from the classical repertoire, and arrangements from the worlds of jazz and pop.
All four members perform at the highest musical level (including in the orchestras of the Banda dell’Arma dei Carabinieri, Banda della Marina Militare, Teatro alla Scala, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and Teatro San Carlo). For several years now, they have been pursuing the quartet’s vision with great passion and charisma.
