Pianist, composer and conductor, San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts Prize, Guerrero Foundation Prize, Fundación Amics del Liceu Prize, among others, Manuel Tévar is one of the most accomplished and internationally recognised Spanish musicians of his generation. He has conducted, among others, the Spaincellence Symphony Orchestra, the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra and the United Nations Youth Ensemble. Tévar is the artistic director of the Atlántida Chamber Orchestra. As a composer, he has premiered more than 30 works in 10 countries. He has participated in seven recording projects, two as composer, one as conductor and four as pianist with his piano duo Iberian & Klavier. Tévar has recorded for Spanish television and national radio, Radio France and the Österreichischer Rundfunk in Vienna. He is the founder and active member of the piano duo Iberian & Klavier, undoubtedly one of today's most attractive and international piano duos. Since its foundation in 2009, the duo has performed piano recitals for four hands and two pianos, with and without orchestra, at prestigious venues and festivals in cities such as New York (Carnegie Hall), Indianapolis, London, Paris, Prague (Rudolfinum), Florence, Lisbon and Berlin, among others, as well as in much of Spain (Auditorio Nacional, Auditorio Miguel Delibes, Teatro Monumental, Fundación Juan March, Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Palau de la Música in Valencia, Fundación Botín, etc.), always with extraordinary critical success. ), always with extraordinary critical and public success. I&K won first prize at the Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York in 2016. On 18 June 2015, the Gabarrón NY Foundation presented Iberian & Klavier at Carnegie Hall in New York, in a concert commemorating the 60th anniversary of Spain's membership of the United Nations. The international press called the concert "an extraordinary explosion of contemporary piano". Tévar has performed as soloist with I&K with the Córdoba Symphony Orchestra, the RTVE Spanish Orchestra, the Valencia Symphony Orchestra, the Indiana Wesleyan University Symphony Orchestra and the Slesian Chamber. The duo's vast and versatile repertoire ranges from Renaissance to contemporary music, offering more than 14 world premieres of pieces written for I&K. His repertoire is deeply committed to promoting Spanish, Latin American and contemporary music, and collaborations with other artists and other arts such as dance are also on his agenda. Tévar has been invited to give master classes at American universities, festivals and music schools and is a member of several prestigious composition, chamber music and piano competitions, such as the Jean Français in Paris. He has been a professor at the Teresa Berganza Conservatory of Music in Madrid since 2004.
